  • Friday 7th March, 7.00 – 11.30pm: Hackney Beit Sourik Friendship Association are organising a local fundraising event on Friday 7th March in Dalston to raise money to bring  Palestinian women to the UK to meet with women’s groups in Hackney, to discuss their mutual struggles and successes on human rights and in particular women’s rights issues as part of the International Women’s Day celebration. They will be in Hackney from Wednesday 5th March and will be present at the fundraising event to give a brief talk before we get to listen and dance to the music, some of which is provided by a Hackney band with an eclectic set of music.
Please come along and invite your friends to this fundraising event- the vegetarian meal is  for the first 100 who book. Here is the habfa.org web page. Here is the facebook link to the Hackney Beit Sourik Friendship Association fundraising event.

Picturehouse programming have informed us that they may have been naive in not looking into the backers of this festival and would not wish to appear to align themselves with them.
