- Outside Hackney Picturehouse on June14th protesting the sponsorship of the ‘Seret London Israeli Film Festival’. Protestors asked: ‘Why is Hackney Picturehouse co-sponsoring a film festival with Israel lobby group BICOM, the Israeli Embassy and Golan Heights Winery a company that profits from the illegal occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights ?’
Picturehouse programming have informed us that they may have been naive in not looking into the backers of this festival and would not wish to appear to align themselves with them.
